The Memorial Day weekend Clinic & Schooling Show was a blast!! BEGI members from OH, PA, MD, NY, MA, AL, FL, and VA gathered together for this wonderful event. It took place at the beuatiful Campbell Springs Equestrian Center in Chesterfield, VA and was hosted by Sharon Madere of EquiLightenment.

As a result, everything ran like clockwork. Mary Beth Horan of La Tienda Espanol set up with her fabulous items. The BEGI table had their exclusive products for sale also. The weather was perfect and the members that came made it memorable! A new power point lecture by Bruno Gonzalez and Tina Cristiani Veder discussing the benefits for horse and rider of the Classical Schooling patterns of the BEGI tests was presented followed by a Q&A session.

The Perfect-A-Pattern lessons, Classical Schooling lessons, Mounted Maneuver lessons with the use of the sword, and the Schooling Show, that culminated in the costumed Musical Presentations was beyond educational. It proved to be a weekend filled with fun, inspiration, and great camaraderie.

Preparations for the Official BEGI show and Classical Horse Expo in August are in full swing. Riders are preparing for their debuts in the various Sections of the competition and some are training for the Grand Gala which will tell the story of the Classical Horse Throughout the Ages. The energy is building! More and more people are joining in this enriching return to the Art of Classical Horsemanship. They are having fun with their horses while becoming better riders with a deeper understanding of how these time-honored principles create harmony, happiness, and oneness with their equine partners. The great historical Masters of Classical of Horsemanship, dating back to Xenophon and culminating during the Baroque Period, focused their teachings upon the qualities of lightness, relaxation, suppleness, self-carriage, balance and brilliance. When we embrace their wisdom and principles, we find tremendous benefit for horses of all breeds and disciplines, and riders of all back- grounds and experience levels. Few people have had the opportunity to experience these timeless principles in action. Our mission is to help make this all-but lost historical Art accessible to the riders of today.
